Light and dark interface
Choose a readable appearance, save your preference and keep HDR colors unchanged.
Choose light or dark#
Use the sun/moon button immediately after Help in the application header. It applies the other theme immediately. The button's tooltip describes the action: Switch to light mode or Switch to dark mode.
Dark is the default, with graphite surfaces and gold accents. Light uses neutral pale surfaces, dark text, stronger control boundaries and darker gold for labels and focus. Both modes retain the yellow Export HDRi and Studio menu buttons.
Choose through Preferences#
Open the yellow Studio menu → Preferences → Workspace → Appearance → Interface theme. Select Dark or Light to see the theme change immediately. The choice saves automatically on this device.
Drag the heading or unused space to move Preferences while reviewing the change. The studio stays interactive behind it. Close dismisses the window; reopening restores the last active tab. To reverse a preference change, choose its previous value.
What appearance changes#
The theme styles interface surfaces, text, fields, sliders, dialogs, menus and the Help Center. Open detached panels follow the main studio theme. Full-screen controls use the chosen theme too.
HDR pixels, light colors, color swatches, rendered materials and exported files retain their actual colors. Changing appearance does not change exposure, tone mapping, lighting history or project data. It is available in Basic, Professional and Advance.
Device preference and readability#
Appearance is remembered in this browser on this device, independently of portable .lumen projects. Missing or invalid appearance preferences use Dark. The Help Center uses the saved appearance when opened.
Use Interface Zoom to enlarge controls; the header can wrap at larger zoom levels. The desktop workspace still keeps minimum usable panel widths. Menus support keyboard navigation and visible focus. The Studio menu's brief open/close animation respects the system reduced-motion preference and Preferences' reduced-motion choice.
Focused fields#
Input fields and dropdowns keep their neutral field background on focus and change their existing border to gold. Their default border uses the same shared color. Required or invalid values retain a distinct red border. Compact controls use 13 px text; the studio password entry has a dedicated, taller 42 px field.
