Light Magic
Find rigs and content, save looks and compare lighting variations.
Lighting Rigs#
Search the rig collection and choose a category. Small, medium and large grid controls change thumbnail size. Select a rig to review its lighting before applying it; import choices can replace or append to your current layers. Check the preview and layer count first.
Thumbnails load asynchronously. A loading state is not the final rig image. If a resource fails, retry once and check the connection before changing the project.
Light Content#
Choose a content type to add a new light. Enable Audition on selected light to preview an appearance on the current light by hovering or focusing it, then click to apply. Moving away ends an uncommitted audition. Locked lights and image content have restrictions in this workflow.
Preset Library · Professional and Advance#
Browse reusable rigs, light appearances and other supplied lighting content. Mark favorites for quicker access. For HDRi Maps, choose Light Layer or HDRi Environment. HDRi Environment imports a full-canvas image layer at the bottom of the current stack, included in preview by default; it no longer creates a separate Environment foundation. The library is a curated starting collection, not a cloud asset marketplace.
My Looks#
Save the current lighting under a name. Apply restores that look's lighting and environment. Rename, duplicate, delete or compare a saved look. A project can keep up to 12 looks. Looks and their required image assets are retained in a saved .lumen project.
The comparison popup has its own exposure control, which affects only the comparison display. Drag the central comparison divider and choose vertical, horizontal or diagonal orientation. Comparing does not apply the look; use Apply when you want to restore it.
Full screen and docking#
Light Magic can float, dock between side panels or span the workspace. Its full-screen mode expands a collapsed panel. Dialogs opened from it remain within the active full-screen experience. Exit Full Screen to restore the workspace.
Rig import choices#
The Jewelry Studio popup uses standard Background radio options. Append and Replace Lights each keep their icon beside the action name, with the consequence underneath. Both actions align at the top so their different descriptions remain easy to compare. Apply requires loaded data and a background choice; Undo restores the prior lighting.
