HELP CENTER / LIGHTING WORKFLOWS

Curve Editor

Draw and refine a curved light, save a reusable shape and finish safely.

Open the editor#

Add or select a Curve light. In Light Properties, choose Open Curve Editor. The editor works on a draft: Done Editing applies it; Close cancels the unfinished changes.

Shape the center line#

Use Points to select a point and drag it. Its tangent handles control the curve between points. Insert / extend adds points, Delete removes the selected point, and Move all, Rotate and Scale transform the whole curve. Linked tangents keep a smooth join; Corner changes the join behavior. Undo and Redo apply to the editor draft.

Give the light a width profile#

Drag the green and blue width handles to change the two sides. Per-point widths let thickness vary along the path. Use Uniform, Taper, Spindle or Ribbon as starting profiles. Symmetric sides share width behavior; separate the sides when a highlight needs an asymmetric edge.

Normal, horizontal, vertical or angled offsets change how the side widths are measured. Falloff and length ramps, plus start and end fading, control how the light softens.

Work at a useful scale#

The normal editing canvas is 480 × 480. Use Zoom and View in the compact toolbar to inspect guides or shading. Full Screen Preview enlarges the editor; use its exit control or Escape to return. The toolbar and footer remain available while the body scrolls. If a control is below the fold, scroll the properties area.

Presets and My Curves#

Expand Preset Curves for starting shapes. Expand My Curves, enter a name and save a preset to reuse the curve and its width/falloff settings. These presets are saved on this device, separately from a project. Use Draw new curve to start another shape, then Done Editing to apply the draft.

A curve supports up to 16 points; a ramp supports up to 16 stops. Up to 50 curve presets can be stored locally. Saved presets are not synchronized to another device.
